Michael Reeg works for Accuride International Inc. as district sales manager. His favorite perk of his job is he gets to work from home with two of the cutest coworkers: his dogs, Meeka and Kya.

Kya is, of course, a pleasure to have around but Meeka is the real workhorse here. She works like a dog to keep Reeg happy and motivated. So much so that he has awarded her “Employee of the Quarter” for the past four quarters, earning her wall plaques and bragging rights. So what does Meeka do that makes her the standout winner?

“There are times that I’ll even talk to her as I work through a problem or map out a customer solution. I try out my sales pitches and presentations on her. She’s not easily impressed or swayed. All she hears is ‘blah, blah, blah, Meeka’ — but she likes to hear my voice and I love that she pays attention,” Reeg told The Dodo.

Reeg added that Kya isn’t as into the job or being around her “boss.” He explains, “She is really my wife’s dog, so she only comes up to the office when my wife is gone. We are her second choice for company!”

Meeka even shows up at the office when Reeg is traveling for business! Now that’s dedication! She lies by the closed door during her “usual business hours.” This type of work ethic is so impressive that it hs gotten the attention of Accuride HQ. “He sends an update after every quarter. Meeka is an outstanding support to Michael and his work,” a spokesperson for Accuride International told The Dodo. “Dogs are the best.”
