Bride Samantha Clark from Pleasantville, Iowa couldn’t wait to marry her sweetheart. She knew, as a dog lover, she wanted to do something truly special for her wedding day that would help rescue pups and put smiles on her guests’ faces. She took to Pinterest and came up with a plan.

Clark contacted AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport, a local Iowa shelter, and asked if they would be willing to “lend out” some rescue puppies for her big day.

“I was worried they’d be skeptical,” Clark told The Des Moines Register, “but they were more than willing to help any way they could. They were awesome.”

Actually, Amy Heinz, the owner of the shelter, loved the idea! “It was a really sweet way to bring raise awareness to rescue dogs,” said Heinz.

The adorable pups were 8-week-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes. The wedding guests couldn’t get enough of their sweet faces! They were a big hit with the Interwebs too! AHeinz57’s Facebook page received a ton of likes and shares. But most importantly, the couple raised awareness about rescue pets and were able to raise donations. AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport used some of the donations to take a trip to Texas to help rescue 96 dogs and 5 cats that were displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

The Clarks and their guests enjoyed every moment with the rescue pups. Even the pups’ foster mom attended! Aren’t dog lovers the best?
