Dog Was Shot Three Times Protecting Owner, Internet’s Reaction Brought His Family To Tears

Rex, a two-year-old German Shepherd, shows us exactly why dogs are called man’s best friend. Rex’s teenage owner and Rex were alone in their Seattle home when two burglars smashed the slider door and broke in. Rex immediately knew danger was afoot and rushed downstairs to ward off the intruders and save his owner. Meanwhile, his 16-year-old owner hid in the closet upstairs and dialed 911.

Downstairs, Rex was fighting the intruders bravely but was outnumbered and beaten into a bloody mess. Even in his bloody condition, he ran back upstairs to check on his owner. The burglars soon followed him upstairs.

Fearing for the life of his owner, a battered and bruised Rex lunged at the intruders once again and kept fighting them, not caring about his own life. That’s when the unthinkable happened. The burglars shot Rex three times, hitting him in the neck, leg, and knee.

The sound of sirens arrived just in time to scare the burglars away, and Rex was rushed to the hospital. Doctors and hospital staff worked round the clock to save him. He is finally out of danger and is now recovering slowly but steadily.

Although the burglars are still at large, Rex has become an internet sensation. His family made a fundraising page to raise funds for his treatment and care, but people showed just how much Rex won their hearts when the fundraising smashed the target of $10,000 and ended up raising over $60,000.

Rex is the goodest of good boys and we hope and pray he makes a full and speedy recovery!

Pit Bull Doesn’t Like Her Dad Coming Home Late, Gives Him An Earful

Pit Bulls often get a bad rap when so many are filled with so much love! Their smiles, floppy ears, and mile-a-minute tails spell out
S-W-E-E-T-N-E-S-S not A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-O-N

Meet Roxy! The sweetest Pit Bull that is all about playtime and cuddles. And her dad!

She’s very disappointed that he’s arrived home late from work. She’s waited all day for him and has been a very patient girl. But still, he’s late and she’s NOT having it!

When Dad asks Roxy about her day, she can’t help but give him an earful. In Doggy, she says:

“Dad, you were gone long enough, why were you late? Why? Why? Why? What’s your excuse and it better be good!”

Then Dad asks the ultimate question: “Roxy, did you miss me?”

In Doggy, “OF COURSE, I did, DAD!!!”

Roxy is the sweetest little daddy’s girl ❤️❤️❤️

Dogs are pack animals and we are their pack! Long work hours can take its toll on your dog. Consider hiring a dog walker that can come in mid-day to take your dog for some exercise. Dog walkers can also play with your pup and give her some much-needed cuddles.

While we cannot help going to work, we can make their day a bit easier. Have advice? Comment below! We love hearing from you!

This rescue dog knew something was wrong with the baby and alerted the family to save the day

Duke is a rescue dog who did a little rescuing of his own. And thanks to him, this family was able to save their baby’s life.

One night, the hero dog suddenly started acting very weird. Duke jumped on his owner’s bed and started shaking uncontrollably, waking them up. Normally an “insanely obedient” dog, the couple couldn’t understand his “bizarre” actions.  They realized something had to be wrong. And something told them to go check on their baby.

Their worst fears had come to life: Harper, their 9-week-old baby girl, wasn’t breathing. They called 911 and, thanks to Duke’s quick thinking, Harper’s life was saved.

“If Duke hadn’t been so scared, we would have just gone to sleep,” Duke’s owner said.

This hero dog was adopted 6 years before the incident. Saving a dog is a wonderful thing, but having that pooch save a family member is just something special. The family’s act of love and kindness was repaid and then some!

We couldn’t put it any better than Duke’s owner: “He’s the perfect dog, he was meant, meant to be ours.”

This is one happy family who thinks more people should adopt pets, and they’re right!

Rescue dogs make wonderful pets who will love you for giving them a forever home, and who knows, maybe you may end up with a hero dog like Duke.

He was born different and grew up fearing humans, but now he’s loved around the world

It’s been a little while since we first found out about Quasimodo the dog, so we thought we’d catch you up on his status.

This very special pup is one of only 15 dogs of his kind in the world… but his Mom would probably say there’s nobody quite like him. This adorable fur-baby was born with a rare disorder called short spine syndrome. As his Mom says, “He’s a true German Shepherd… just shorter.”

He was found as a stray dog in Kentucky. Quasi was scared of humans and very shy. But after he got to know a loving human named Rachel, his personality came out.

These days he’s enjoying life running in the snow, playing with his friends, and chasing girl dogs (apparently, he’s quite the ladies’ man!). His human founded Secondhand Hounds, a non-profit that saves thousands of animals a year, and that’s where Quasimodo gets all the care and attention he needs.

He has to do some things differently from other dogs, like eating his food without bending down, but he’s now a happy, carefree pup who has found fans all over the world…. including us!
