An Alberta dog was loved for his emphatically flighty looks and his canine doppelgänger, a warped-nosed salvage canine taken on from a sanctuary in Texas, has become quick companions.

Brodie, a German shepherd-line collie blend whose surprising face has procured him web-based entertainment distinction has another close companion at his home in Red Deer — a salvage canine named Raven with a similar disproportionate grin.

Owner Amanda Richter said that the two canines make the ideal pair. “They’re inseparable,” she stated. “They follow each other around. They sleep together. They cuddle, all of those things. It just literally happened in a few days, which is crazy, but I’m really happy about it.”

Brodie, who has nearly 600,000 Instagram followers and nearly 3,000 Facebook fans, has a ‘wonky face’ according to Richter. His snout curls in all directions. One of the eyes bulges out of its socket. From his crooked jaw, his tongue lolls lazily.

Brodie’s mother is believed to have bitten him on the head as a puppy, leaving him with serious injuries and partial blindsight. “He looks a little like Quasimodo from The Hunchback mixed with the hyena from The Lion King,” Richter stated.

An Ideal Pair

Richter figured Brodie was exceptional. At the point when she coincidentally found his carbon copy half a month prior on Facebook, it seemed like destiny. She quickly documented reception papers for the canine. “It’s actually really strange how much they do have in common,” she stated.

“They have the exact same little mole on the side of their cheeks, the same white line under their chin, the same little warthog tooth, the same white stripe on top of their nose. And their personalities are almost exactly the same.”

“Raven is very quiet and dainty and sweet and gentle … But now she’s starting to develop some of his traits. She’s coming out of his shell.” Richter and her accomplice, Brad Ames, embraced Brodie from a haven in Ponoka, Alta., in September 2019.

Richter had right away experienced passionate feelings for Brodie’s deformed face in the wake of looking past his photograph via online entertainment. In the wake of taking on him, she was before long reporting his experiences on Facebook and Instagram.

Brodie’s uncommon looks and spicy character have acquired him his army of adherents. He has been highlighted in People magazine and in papers all over the planet.

Intended To Be

Richter said Raven’s cross-line reception could never have been conceivable without assistance from Brodie’s fans. Raven was taken from the Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue in Houston and put on a trip to Seattle.

From that point, a worker drove her across the boundary into Canada. Little dog Rescue Mission, a Texas-based cause that most frequently attempts to rejoin military individuals with creatures they embraced during abroad organizations, coordinated the vehicle.

Richter had sent off a web-based raising support mission to assist with taking care of the vehicle costs. In no less than 60 minutes, the mission hit its objective and has since raised more than $8,000. Raven’s medical bills and expenses will be paid by the money generated through the fundraising.

The Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue and Puppy Rescue Mission will receive the remaining amounts. “It’s amazing to me that many people came together to bring one dog to one family,” Richter stated.

“It’s bringing more awareness to animals and especially special needs animals … with things going on in the world, it’s  just so nice to see positive news.”

Richter said she feels empowered by the liberality of Brodie’s fans and is so happy to have her two matching canines together at home. “It was just meant to be.”
