Days before Thanksgiving, a woman died in a crash in Rio Linda that was allegedly caused by a drunk driver, according to Sacramento police.

It took place at approximately 4:15 PM. close to the junction of Dry Creek Road and Marysville Boulevard.

Family members confirmed to CBS13 that Kathy Blair died in the collision but that her husband and two dogs, who were also in the car, were unharmed. The family’s suffering increased when one of their cherished pet chihuahuas, Peanut, escaped during the accident.

The Rio Linda community jumped into action after Robertson took quickly to social media to ask neighbors to be on the lookout for Peanut.

I posted the article, and within 30 minutes it had 47 shares and was growing, according to Robertson. I also had numerous messages from people who wanted to offer assistance. The article was eventually posted more than 600 times on various Facebook pages for Rio Linda.

A half-mile away from the crash site, Peanut was discovered in a yard still wearing his Christmas sweater. Thanks to some good Samaritans who were prepared to assist a stranger, Peanut will be home for the holidays to support his heartbroken family.
