For many dogs, especially those who are neglected and abused, basic medical care is a luxury. Yuki, a six-year-old Mexican dog, was abandoned by her terrible owners and was later discovered wandering the streets. She suffered from a severe case of sarcoptic mange. Her skin had the texture of potato chips.

When a rescue team eventually located Yuki, they took her to the emergency room. When the vet saw Yuki, he was in awe. The worst skin he had ever seen was on her!

Yuki only weighed 44 pounds due to being extremely underweight. Yuki should be at least 60 pounds in weight! She was malnourished! also ignored. Ehrlichiosis, an extremely dangerous illness transmitted by ticks, was also found in Yuki’s test results.

Dead skin layers have to be removed by the veterinarian. Yuki appeared burnt by the time he had taken off the “potato chip” layer. Thank goodness she didn’t have to endure that! She was given antibiotics and painkillers. She also consumed a lot of calories. She started gaining weight and was overjoyed to be around such kind people.

After the vet gave her the all-clear medically, Yuki headed to a foster home. She was no longer abused and truly appreciated being a member of a family. She ate twice a day from a dish while contently lounging on the couch. Yuki cherished the things that so many people would take for granted.

The gorgeous girl adores taking road trips. To travel from her foster home in Mexico to her foster family in California, she excitedly jumped inside the car.

Yuki is really doing well! She is extremely well-behaved and likes to play, according to her foster mother. Yuki will eventually find her forever home; it’s just a question of time. Every life is valuable, and every dog deserves to live in a loving environment!
