Rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis were out on St. Patricks Day and discovered a sweet pup in need of help. Their shelter was full, but it was down-pouring outside and they knew they couldn’t leave this dog behind in the rain.

It’s unknown how long she had been on the streets for, but her head was covered in scars and it looked like she’s had many litters in the past, so it was obvious that she had a rough life.

She was most likely used for breeding, and then dumped and abandoned when the owner no longer needed her or deemed her “useless.”

As soon as rescuers called over to her, she began wagging her tail as if she was relieved to finally see someone who paid her any attention and was willing to help her.

Without hesitation, the pup crossed the street toward rescuers and gently crawled through the grass to them. She allowed them to pet her and put a leash on her.

Once they were in the car, the dog rested her head on the rescuer’s shoulder, thanking her for saving her life.

They brought her back to their rescue, where she received a medical examination and will soon be ready to find her forever home!
