Moberly Animal Shelter rescuers were a little concerned when they removed several beagles from a hoarding scenario. Fortunately, other from River, they all appeared to be in generally good health.

Little River weighed only 2 pounds at the age of 7 weeks. He was brought in as a medical foster by Lindsay Lenz at Just One More Farm after the veterinarian advised that he would require additional care in order to become healthy and thrive. Lenz was resolved to assist in nursing River back to health right away because she had over 200 rescues at her farm.

In the beginning, Lenz told The Dodo, “He was really unwell.” He was quite lethargic and spent most of his time sleeping. I built him a kennel that included a heating pad and a variety of food. I had to tube-feed him formula and medications for the first two days. It was touch and go. I awoke at 7 a.m. on the third day’s morning. by the smallest, loudest cries! River awoke and yearned to leave! ”

After only a few days at the farm, River abruptly changed into a playful puppy that was eager to play and discover the world. Lenz, though, made sure to keep a careful eye on him anytime he was outside of his kennel because he was still so young. If not, she feared he may go lost, and one day her fear was realized.

When Lenz went to the bathroom and returned, “River was nowhere to be found,” he claimed, “three or four days later.” We have seen puppies hide and fall asleep before, so at first I wasn’t too concerned. However, after 10 or 15 minutes, I really began to fear that he had snuck out the door with my teenager and had been lost.

In a panic, Lenz went throughout the home looking for River. When she heard the smallest yawn, she stopped short of asking her husband for assistance.

Lenz stated, “I began filming and went looking.” “It took me some time, but I found River.”

River had been sleeping in plain sight the entire time, so it turns out he wasn’t even lost.

He was dozing off on top of the container containing the dog toys, according to Lenz. I was initially stunned, then chuckled for a good five minutes at how well he fit in with all the stuffed animals. I must have literally passed him a dozen times while looking. He was ostensibly concealed in plain sight! ”

Poobie, Lenz’s dog, had been standing close by the entire time, which made the situation even amusing because it appeared from the expression on her face that she had known where River was all along but had no interest in telling anyone about his hidden napping location. After all, it was obvious that he didn’t want to be bothered.

When I spotted River, he was completely uninterested and hadn’t even raised his head, according to Lenz. Instead, he gave me the side-eye, as if to say, “You disturbed my snooze! I couldn’t stop laughing after hearing that. River loves to take naps there, so I know just where to search now if he goes “lost”!

River didn’t mean to terrify his foster parents. He was only looking for the ideal place to slumber, and despite the chaos, he is obviously overjoyed that he did.
