The Humane Society of the United States was assisted by the Dixie County Sheriff’s office in investigating a possible hoarding situation in the state of Florida. They arrived to the residential property afraid of what they might see, and it was even worse than they could’ve imagined.

Over 140 dogs kept in small, dirty enclosures that were wired shut with the intention of keeping them trapped inside forever. How long had these dogs been imprisoned? They couldn’t know for sure, but this was now the beginning of a new chapter in their lives! 🙂

One particular dog is pulled from her prison for the first time in her life, and watching it brings on so many different emotions. At one point at the end while being held, she throws her head back to finally breathe in some fresh air. All of these dogs are in for many more surprises as they go on to much better lives, and it’s all thanks to the Humane Society!
