After a video of a small black dog named Jelly caring for an abandoned kitten went viral, it brought tears to the eyes of animal lovers. As many as 3.2 million cats are given up each year, claims the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Who number, however, does not account for the infinite number of cats and kittens that are just left on the street to fend for themselves.

Viewers were taken through the tale of how Miracle was restored to health with a little assistance from another four-legged companion in a video posted to TikTok by Arizonan Ariana Sanchez. It is accessible here.

The video clearly struck a chord with social media cat lovers because, as of the time of writing, it had received 5 million online views.
Sanchez tells in the video that the kitten was “dragging herself” down the “heated concrete street with continual traffic passing over her” when Sanchez discovered it.

She took the little cat home after saving her from a life on the verge of death. According to Sanchez, she later learned the small cat was only two days old and required two-hour bottle feedings.

She persisted in her work, however, with a little assistance from Jelly, who is shown in the video assisting in keeping the defenseless kitten warm within a blanket.

She says in the video, “Me and my dog raised this little miracle.

The video then transitions to the touching scene in which the kitten, subsequently given the name Miracle, first opens both of her eyes to take in her surroundings.

A few seconds later, Jelly walks over to give Miracle a series of loving licks, and Miracle clearly enjoys the attention. This makes the already special occasion even more memorable. According to Sanchez, “She was extremely proud of her.”

Later in the video, Miracle appears to be a little happier and healthier, climbing up Sanchez’s thigh and playing with Jelly.

The next scene shows Jelly and Miracle cuddling up on Sanchez’s lap, with the kitten giving the dog’s caregiver a kiss on the ear. As the video comes to a close, Sanchez comments, “You are so loved, darling girl.”

Animal enthusiasts were quick to thank Sanchez and Jelly for their contributions to giving Miracle a second shot after reading this heartwarming account of their unusual friendship with a dog and cat.
