The Humane Society of the United States performed a raid on a dog meat farm in South Korea in which they rescued around 170 dogs who were living in tiny metal cages in the worst conditions imaginable. They took all of the dogs in and shut the farm down for good! And one of the dogs given a second chance at life was Jin.

Orangutan Comes Face-To-Face With Burn Victim At The Zoo, What He Does Has The Internet In Tears

Primates have a lot in common with humans. They are intelligent creatures that can connect to both animals and humans on a level that still surprises us. Primates can also communicate by using small sounds and sign language. Through language, we are able to learn much of what they are thinking and feeling.

One INCREDIBLE story out of Indiana shows us how understanding these animals can be.

Darci Miller and her fiancé, Jason Costello, took a trip together to the Indiana Zoo. Miller had been through a severe trauma and for her, connecting with another species, was another step toward healing.

When Miller approached a very special orangutan, named Rocky, the most incredible thing happened.

Miller, in 2015, was a victim of a horrific accident. She was covered in burns both inside and outside her body. Her chance of survival was bleak. After several surgeries, Miller made a turn for the better!

Still scarred and bandaged up, Miller came to the zoo hoping to reconnect to the outside world.

When she came face-to-face with Rocky, the most amazing thing happened.

While Costello filmed the interaction, Rocky points to Miller’s injuries. He asks her to turn to him and show him her arm.

Rocky’s eyes say it all! His compassion is remarkable! Miller was blown away.

“The orangutan was completely interested in my burn scars and recent surgery sights . . . I am a burn survivor from 2015, it has been up and down but this particular day made me feel really good about myself.”

Rocky’s reaction to Miller’s injuries proves that our connection to each other goes way beyond what many expect.

As Miller continues to heal, she will NEVER forget the special moment she and Rocky had together. Aren’t animals amazing?
