When no one stepped forward to claim Damon after he was found as a missing dog at Cincinnati Animal CARE in November, he was placed up for adoption. Though he searched for a home for months on end without luck, he was still able to find amusement in the shelter.

Every office had a dog hanging around there every day due to the shelter’s extreme overpopulation, and Damon was one of those office pets.

“He was residing in the behavior office, but they needed their space to work with additional dogs in need, and he had really bonded with Sydney, our foster expert,” Ray Anderson, a staff member at Cincinnati Animal CARE, told The Dodo. “So, he temporarily resided there! ”

Damon was left alone in the workplace for around 45 minutes one day when Sydney had to leave for a meeting. Taking advantage of his newfound freedom, he decided to host a party.

Without waiting, Damon started taking the toys that were designated for foster families out of the office. He hurled them around, tore them apart, and played with them. It appeared that he had been by himself for a long time based on the mess he produced.

According to Anderson, “I think the official tally of toys destroyed was ‘all of them. He discovered a cornucopia of entertainment since the foster office is stocked with gifts to take home with our foster families.

The staff at the shelter was unable to be angry with Damon when they discovered him sitting haughtily in the middle of his ruin. They were all happy that he had figured out how to make the most of his life in a shelter because he appeared so proud of himself.

The day at the shelter was particularly chaotic (although they’re often quite chaotic), and Anderson said it was hilarious to go in and see that. How could you be angry at that look when he appeared to be having the time of his life? ”

Everyone found the episode to be amusing, so they all shared it on social media. The message was eventually seen by Damon’s family, who lost him months before. Damon may now hold a toy party whenever he wants because they were able to come and get him and take him home once more.

Damon’s damage, despite the mess he made, resulted in a family reunion and brought about a lot of happiness, thus overall, it was a success.
