A family found a mama dog lying with her litter of six puppies in more than a foot of snow, keeping them warm and protecting them from the elements in northern Minnesota.

The concerned family rescued them and drove the mama, now named Snowbelle, and her babies to the Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue, where they immediately took them into their care.

The three-week-old puppies were starving, since Snowbelle had stopped producing milk in the frigid temperatures.

Thankfully, after being in the warmth of the shelter for a few days and getting proper nutrients, Snowbelle finally started producing plenty of milk for her babies.

Snowbelle has since been spayed and is available for adoption.

Her puppies are growing daily and some have already found loving forever homes!

Snowbelle has proven to be an amazing mama and helped keep her puppies alive.

It’s unknown if Snowbelle was always a stray or if someone dumped her there, but the fact that she and her puppies survived the freezing temperatures is a miracle.
