Juan Flores noticed a stray cat in his neighborhood and took it upon himself to make sure she was properly fed. And years later, the cat would show up pregnant. This is when Juan’s Pit Bull, Hades, would come into the picture. The dog wanted to be like Dad and help out, and that’s exactly what he did!
The loving Pittie gave up his own doghouse so that the stray cat would have a safe place to give birth! Hades made a lot of commotion at the door until he got Dad’s attention so he could show him what he’d done.
Hades then dragged her blanket over to the entrance of the doghouse to settle in and watch over the feline. The Pit Bull stood guard as the cat gave birth to two healthy kittens! Juan would promptly bring the cat family into the house for comfort and protection.
Over the following months, Hades and the cat family would bond before Dad eventually found the two kitties loving forever homes!
“I think he felt that he was a father,” Juan said in a comment to The Dodo. The kind gesture by this Pit Bull speaks volumes about how loving the breed actually is despite all of the stereotypes. 🙂
