When someone takes a dog from a shelter and makes it feel at home, it is wonderful. We can all support the message “Don’t shop, adopt.” Adopting a homeless animal is a lovely thing to do.

But occasionally, shelter dogs can present their own set of difficulties, including adjusting to a new family, new surroundings, strangers, smells, places to use the bathroom, and places to eat their food. Because shelter dogs are frequently in unfamiliar settings and have a difficult past, we adore this lovely and instructive video that @JulieSacareno posted.

@juliesaraceno2 When adopting a shelter pet, please be patient! They need time to get used to their new home. #themoreyouknow💫 #shelterdogsrock #adoptable #pascowa ♬ original sound – .

According to the 333 rule, a dog needs three days to unwind and adjust to a new place, three weeks to establish a routine and reveal some of its individuality, and three months to realize they are at home.

Be patient with yourself and your dog, and ultimately it will seem as though you have been together your entire lives.
