June Rountree loves her 4-year-old dog, Abby, very much. When Rountree recently went to her backyard in Dothan, Alabama, to check on Abby, she was beside herself with shock. She looked all around and called out for Abby, but the black and white mutt was nowhere in sight. All that remained in the yard was Abby’s collar and leash, which were secured to a stake in the ground.

June and her husband looked everywhere, but there was no sign of Abby or what exactly happened to her. Three weeks went by, and June was working at the local Walmart as she normally does. As a cashier, June is very busy and she was going about her day when the strangest thing happened. She heard a commotion, looked around, and saw a dog inside the store. People were trying to catch the dog, but they were unsuccessful.

“I was like, ‘What in the world is happening?’” stated Danielle Robinette, 42, a Walmart associate. “I’m a huge animal lover, so I just followed her, and she ran up to register No. 6.” Rountree looked up, called “Abby” and sure enough, it was her beloved missing mutt.

“I called her name and she came to me,” Rountree reported. “I bent over and hugged her. I completely lost it then. I couldn’t speak. I was in complete shock and just couldn’t believe it.”

No one knows why Abby disappeared or how she found her way to the Walmart where her owner works, but the situation is really amazing. We absolutely love a happy ending, and welcome you home, Abby!
