“Ruff” It With Rescue Dogs at These Airbnb Experiences
We waited all year, and the Big Game has finally come and gone. We’re referring, of course, to the Puppy Bowl. Animal Planet’s annual event advocates for canine adoption, bringing together pups from shelters across America to duke it out for the “Lombarky” trophy. If watching all the adorable mutts in need of a “furever” home leaves you feeling a bit deflated (right, Tom?), we’ve got the perfect post-game pick-me-up for you. Whether you’re introducing Fido to a litter of adoptable pups or hiking with rescues in Hollywood, sign up for an Airbnb Experience that gives back to our less fortunate furry friends.

Join your host, Ryan, on Shelter Island to help neglected pooches learn how to trust people again. During this heartwarming pet-friendly experience, Fido can join the rest of the pack and walk the length of the island and back, enjoying Pacific Ocean views along the way. Rescue Dog Walk By the Bay is one of Airbnb’s social impact experiences, which means all of the proceeds go to Ryan’s non-profit animal welfare organization, Free Animal Doctor. Airbnb doesn’t take its usual fee, and every penny you spend helps individuals and organizations raise money for animal care.
Rates start at $40 per person.

You’ll also hit some lesser known spots like the entrance to Chinatown and the Navy Memorial. All the money raised from this experience goes to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
Rates start at $35 per person.

The beautiful Spanish coastal city of Alicante is the setting for this Airbnb Experience. Meet your host, Leontin, for a very special Farm Visit With Rescue Animals. You’ll spend three hours with welcoming characters like Sam, the three-legged Shar Pei; an adorable drift of mini pigs; and ponies, donkeys and lots of other lovely creatures that have been rescued from traumatic situations. During the summer months, guests can even swim with dogs in the pool. Due to some of the puppies on the farm not being fully vaccinated, your pooch will have to sit this experience out.
Rates start at $29 per person.

If you think bow-wows with a beer sounds like a match made in heaven, then this experience is for you. Drink a Draft With a Rescue Dog is hosted by Dog Gone Seattle. Held at one of their “Mutt Mixers” in a pet-friendly microbrewery, the experience welcomes you to indulge in delicious craft beers, pet and play with up to 10 canines, and grab some local eats from a visiting food truck. It was created to help socialize the dogs with people, not other animals. As such, you’ll have to leave Fido at home. He won’t mind sitting it out, though, especially as all proceeds go toward rescue efforts.
Rates start at $25 per person.
