When Caroline Wilson said goodbye to her beloved 15-year-old dog, Solo, after she dropped him off at her friend’s house to watch him while she was at work, she had no idea that this would be the last time she would see him. She is now devastated and desperately searching for her furry best friend after he was stolen, along with her friend’s car.

It happened right outside of Tropical Smoothie Cafe near Federal Boulevard and West 72nd Ave in Westminster, Colorado, when her friend left the Beagle-Basset Hound mix in the back seat of her running car, while she quickly ran inside to pick up her smoothie. Within one minute, a man hopped inside the vehicle and drove off with Solo still inside.

Wilson has been posting flyers all over the town, hoping someone will recognize her beloved dog or her friend’s 2006 navy blue Subaru Forester with the North Carolina License plate #42M1BP. The Westminster Police are investigating and have also asked the public for help.

“This young lady has had Solo since she was 5 years old,” they wrote on Facebook. “If you see the dog or vehicle please call police. To the person who took this young lady’s dog, please keep the dog safe and do the right thing and turn it over to someone who can call police once you’re gone and ensure its safe return to her owner.”

If you see this vehicle or know Solo’s whereabouts, please contact the Westminster Police immediately, or you can call or text 443-928-2188 or 919-352-2507.

“I just really want her back,” Wilson told ABC 7 Denver. “Fifteen years wasn’t enough. I need my dog for a little bit longer.”
