Many of us are concerned about who would look after our dogs if something were to happen to us. We may all learn from this tale to always be prepared. We never know what the future will bring.
In Russia, a senior citizen passed away. Because of his lack of planning, his dog was delivered to a new family. His cherished dog, Cocos, had been mistreated by this new family for a full year. Bobtail dogs, such as Cocos, are also referred to as Old English Sheepdogs. Their stunning coats take a lot of maintenance. Their lengthy fur is prone to tangling and can quickly encroach into their eyes.
Because Cocos’ new owners didn’t care to comb him, his fur got out of hand and matted up, which made it difficult for him to move and breathe. This was a question of life and death, not just a superficial issue.
Cocos wasn’t just neglected during routine grooming; he was totally forgotten! All dogs want playtime, affection, a healthy diet, and regular grooming; but, this unfortunate dog was abandoned in a kitchen, all by himself, as if he didn’t even exist.
As you can see, it took a lot of effort for rescuers to make Cocos comfortable. The poor creature didn’t even resemble a dog!
Cocos was returned to the hospital by the rescuers. To remove the matted fur from him, they toiled for more than three hours. They discovered ulcers and infections from the fur irritating his flesh beneath the fur.
Is that an eye? OH WOW, he is under there!
Three hours later, a beautiful dog emerges. Cocos can breathe and move. Now all he needs is the perfect forever family who will never let him down.
Then came Elena– the perfect mom for Cocos. She knew all about Sheepdogs and was happy to give him the life he deserves.
She knows how to groom him and keep him active and healthy. Just look at him now! That’s one happy pup!
