With a Christmas cracker perfectly balanced on his head, this courageous dachshund might probably credit his exceptional balancing skills to his low center of gravity.

Harlso, the sausage dog, displays his great talent in a series of entertaining ‘elfies,’ posing with an elf on the shelf, toy sprouts, and mince pies to round out a humorous seasonal compilation.

‘We first found he could do it while I was playing with him when he was about two years old, and I balanced his favorite toy chicken on his head,’ said owner Paul Lavery, 32.

‘Instead of shaking it off like another dog, he just stood there, and the chicken stayed put.’

In a touching video, four-year-old Harlso even recreates the famed Love Actually film scene, in which lovestruck Mark (Andrew Lincoln) reveals his true thoughts to Juliet (Keira Knightley) using cue cards.

Since social worker Mr Lavery and his wife Jennifer, 31, discovered his impressive party piece, the Belfast-based pet has amassed nearly 200,000 Instagram followers.

He is rewarded with cuddles and treats as he completes each trick.

Harlso was on hand when Mr Lavery proposed in New York’s Times Square, balancing the diamond ring on his head.

And he was an amazing ring-bearer at the couple’s wedding, complete with signature bow-tie.
