A little puppy cannot survive on her own when she first enters the world. She is dependent on her mother to care for and feed her. Sadly, a vicious person tore this little puppy away from her mother and beat her. The dog was then abandoned with no one around to watch over her.

The young victim was bleeding heavily as she lay on the ground. More than a thousand maggots attracted to her wounds settled inside of her. They persisted in consuming her flesh. She was in dire need of a guardian angel to intervene on her behalf or the virus would claim her life.

Thank goodness, someone noticed the little dog and immediately took her to the clinic. The rescuer gave the puppy the name Lora. They didn’t think twice once Lora was at the veterinarian. She required immediate care. To adequately care for Lora’s wound, they first shaved the affected region. Once all the maggots had been removed, it was watered.

Fortunately, X-rays showed that Lora’s back legs were not fractured; nonetheless, she would require extensive physical therapy. Her wounds needed to be carefully monitored as well. An infection could still be problematic even when taking medicines. Everyone at the veterinary office was smitten with the adorable puppy. She was brave in every way.

The clinic asked a local woman whether she would be willing to be Lora’s medical foster mother. She concurred! The puppy would have a comfortable place to sleep and frequent visits to the doctor. Although this was wonderful news, the veterinarian quickly discovered that Lora is totally blind and deaf. Even though Lora was also given a liver diagnosis, nobody was ready to give up on her.

As if Lora didn’t already have enough difficulties, the veterinarian discovered that she also lacks the ability to smell. Being blind and deaf, Lora would use her sense of smell to get around. This really dealt a blow. There would be many challenges ahead for Lora but she was so loved now. And love can truly make a difference. Her medical foster mom is currently doing all she can to help Lora thrive.
