The emu even rolls to the floor and Molly reciprocates by leaving the room. But then the dog changes her mind and gets a case of the zoomies.

Newest K9 Cop Unable To Keep His Eyes Open For Official Swearing-In Ceremony

Taking an oath to serve and protect is something police officers do every day. Most of the time, the officer swears to uphold his or her duties and stays awake for the ceremony. That isn’t the case for a recent addition to the Bristol, Rhode Island Police Department.

K9 Brody came to the department in order to help citizens deal with stressful times. Brody will work with school kids as well as everyday citizens, witnesses, and investigators.

The chocolate English Labrador Retriever was named Brody as a combination of “B” for Bristol (the town) and “Rody” as a nickname for Rhode Island.

At his swearing-in ceremony, however, Brody got a little too comfortable and fell asleep for his official first day. The police department lived-streamed the sweet moment on Facebook so all of the dog’s fans could watch.

Shelter Dog Rang In New Year By Welcoming 11 Puppies As Clock Struck Midnight

A two-year-old hound mix, named Eden, who resides at The Heart of Rhode Island Animal Shelter in Cranston, rang in the New Year by giving birth to 11 adorable puppies.

When employees arrived to work on New Year’s Day, Eden had already given birth to four of her babies by 7 in the morning. Staff then assisted Eden with the birth of her remaining seven pups.

Since Eden is a rescue and her exact breed is unknown, they are unsure of what her puppies are too; but what we do know is that they are cute and healthy!

Once the puppies are eight weeks old, they will be put up for adoption and added to the shelter’s website.

In the meantime, mama and her babies are now living together at a foster home, where Eden will continue to nurse them and care for them.

The shelter posted a video of the newborn puppies in a big cuddly pile with the caption: “HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM OUR JANUARY 1ST PUPPIES! This is the type of 2021 stuff we can get on board with. Eden, our super hero mom, is doing well.”
