Michigan State Football Senior Cornerback Josh Butler had a tough going during his college tenure. The 23-year-old buried his father in 2017 and then lost his mother to breast cancer last year. During this time, he adopted 2 Bulldog mix dogs, Roxy and Remi, who helped him cope with his loss.
Josh badly missed his parents when it was time for the university’s celebratory Senior Night. On this special occasion, it is customary for the senior players to walk out with their families before their final college game. That’s when Josh realized that he could still complete the traditions with his furry “daughters” by his side!
In this video, we see Josh nervously waiting for his turn while Roxy and Remi eagerly support him. As he emerges into the stadium with his dogs, the cheering crowd erupts into loud applause! His fans definitely recognize the hardship he has been through all these years!
Josh wore his father’s crematory tag to remember him and honored his mother by tattooing a pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. Roxy and Remi mean the world to him and he hopes to successfully earn his Master’s degree with their loving support. Best of luck, Josh!
