Dogs that are lost frequently stray far from their homes. Suzette Hall, a dog rescuer, believes that distinguishes them from dogs that have been abandoned.

According to Hall, “the ones who are abandoned stay where their owners left them.” However, most people simply wander.

So, when Hall received a phone informing her that a recently adopted dog named Koa had run away from his new home, she was aware that she would face a difficult path.

Hall had no idea that the stray dog would travel 45 miles across California in search of the ideal permanent home.

Koa’s information was shared on neighborhood social media networks by Hall and her rescue partner, who also made care to alert nearby cities that he was missing.

Then, according to Hall, “we started to get all these sightings.” “I have no idea how he traveled to all of these other cities, but he did.”

Koa sightings, according to Hall, were reported in a few Southern Californian cities.

In a Facebook post, Hall stated that the man had traveled from Yorba Linda to Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, and Westminster. “Every police officer in every city knew about him.”

Koa arrived in Westminster, some 45 miles from his new home, after two months of travel.

Hall spotted Koa hiding in a chapel when he reacted to the sighting. Koa refused to take the bait, so she set up her trap and waited.

He was so evasive that nobody could catch him, Hall claimed.

Hall was, however, resolved to free Koa once and for all after spending two months attempting to capture him. Hall managed to herd Koa into a spot with the aid of two Westminster animal control officials, who then captured him in a net for safety.

“Getting him was nothing short of a miracle,” Hall claimed.

Koa’s adoptive parents were contacted by Hall after she had taken him directly to the veterinarian, and they gave Koa back to her.

Koa, who was emaciated when Hall found him, received the medical attention he required and recovered from his arduous voyage swiftly. Then he found his enduring family.

It took a very long time to break out of his shell, but now Hall absolutely loves him.

Koa now lives in a wonderful home with a fantastic family. Koa spends his free time playing in his backyard when he’s not cuddling with his humans. And he hasn’t attempted to stray again.

Hall stated, “His new mom just adores him.” He leads the ideal life.
