A tiny black and tan puppy lay calmly on his dog bed, abandoned in a dumpster with trash bags and an old watermelon. He could hardly lift his head above the trash, but he appeared to blend in.

Fortunately, a kind stranger saw him and reported him to environmental officials in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who came running.

The phone at the Greenville Humane Society began ringing shortly after that.

The Greenville Humane Society’s CEO, Rachel Delport, told The Dodo, “We got a phone asking if we would be willing to take him. Naturally, we responded “yes.”

Delport found it upsetting that someone would abandon a helpless animal in the trash by itself.

She stated it was upsetting to see people who didn’t take the necessary action to handle animals properly.

The puppy, who was eventually given the name Coleman, was overjoyed to be in the hands of people who loved him. His personality started to emerge; he became considerably more outspoken and adored any kind of attention.

Delport stated, “Once he got here, he was extremely ready for some cuddling.” “He received a lot of toys and love.”

Coleman was given every advantage to make him a strong candidate for adoption, and the humane organization even arranged for a picture session for him.

Delport is optimistic Coleman will find a family who will love him forever shortly. Coleman was eager to find a family soon enough.

Many individuals have called to inquire about his well-being and there has been a lot of attention, according to Delport. “The neighborhood supports him and hopes for the best for him.”
