Some of the most unlikely animals become the best of pals, and thanks to social media, everyone can enjoy their friendships. One of these dynamic pairings is Rosie the Welsh Terrier mix and Olive the African Pygmy hedgehog.

Not only did Rosie and Olive became close companions, but they’ve helped their owner battle anxiety. The 28-year-old woman, Victoria Wright, says she became so anxious that she was afraid to leave her home.

Rosie had a really rough start to life, was found as a stray, and had barely any hair on her ears along with scars on her nose. Wright saved the dog from shelter life and gave her a life of love.

She found Olive and brought her home, and much to her surprise Rosie got along with the hedgehog right away.

“Olive may be tiny, but she rules the roost,” Wright stated.

When the duo first met, Rosie was curious but Olive was shy. These days, they cuddle together, share food, and even take naps side by side.

“Last year, I finally accepted I needed help, and have had medication and talking therapy – but nothing has helped quite like Olive,” Wright shared. “‘She’s like a therapy pet. And Rosie, too – she is great at picking up when I’m feeling down. She’s so gentle and always comes over for cuddles.”
