Although The Gentle Barn Animal Sanctuary in Santa Clarita, California, is closed to the human public because of the coronavirus, they decided to open their doors to a group of unique visitors: five 10-week-old rescue puppies!
The puppies, who were from Paw Works, a non-profit animal rescue in Thousand Oaks, were ecstatic to spend the day at the barn and let their curiosity get the best of them as they ran around the facility.
The nosey pups met all different animals at the barn, including cows, donkeys, pigs, chickens, and turkeys, all whom they came face-to-face with.
The puppies were taken in by Paw Works after they were dropped off in a cardboard box at a shelter in the Central Valley.
Luckily, all of these pups have since found loving forever homes, including one with The Gentle Barn’s founder.
But there are still many other dogs and cats who are looking for homes during this pandemic.
“In partnering with The Gentle Barn, we wanted to remind everyone, that big or small, the creatures of this world need our voice more than ever,” Chad Atkins, Paw Works co-founder, and executive director told ABC 7.
“And, that feeling of fear and isolation that we are all feeling during quarantine is something that many of these animals experience every day of their lives.”
