Jenna Rezzonico spotted a dog perilously close to the road as she navigated  twisting mountain lanes.  As the owner of Rezzi’s Rescue in Northern California, she was uniquely qualified to save the stray.

With the help of another driver who had also pulled over to help, they called Animal Control.

Rezzonico procured some dog food from the back of her van. “He was super hungry. I could tell his collar had just been taken off because you could see the imprint of it.”

Plausibly, the brown mutt had been left on the mountaintop and made his way down to the road. Now called “Marley,” he seemed to crave affection, rolling over for tummy rubs. “He is a very sweet dog. [He] also seemed a bit skittish, maybe because of his previous owner.”

As fate would have it, the other driver who assisted in the rescue, knew someone looking to adopt a dog. Marley turned out the be the one.

Thus, a happy ending for all!
