The Skechers brand is commemorating an important animal rescue.

On May 12, Skechers revealed in a press release that since the collection’s debut, more than $8 million had been contributed to animal rescue efforts.

Each time a BOBS from Skechers product is bought in the US or Canada, a contribution is donated to the North American animal welfare organization Petco Love and its 4,000 rescue partners. These contributions have helped more than 1.5 million rescue animals.

With Petco Love and other animal welfare partners, Skechers is organizing adoption events all throughout June to commemorate the achievement in California, Texas, Nebraska, and Vancouver. Skechers is also reflecting on the furry lives it has impacted through philanthropy.

The brand hasn’t accomplished this on its own. Numerous heroic pets and their devoted owners have helped them. Stevie the senior dog is one of those fluffy good deeds. The 10-year-old dog received a sizeable grant for Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco with the help of her owner Lisa Arden.

Arden had fostered 28 pets from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue before meeting Stevie.

Arden shared photos of her foster experience with Stevie on social media to let others understand the joy that comes with fostering and/or adopting a senior cat. Many animal enthusiasts were motivated to consider adopting or fostering an older animal as a result of Arden’s openness about fostering senior dogs and Stevie’s upbeat disposition and gentle temperament, which were seen by thousands of animal lovers.

The small company owner, who donates a portion of her Etsy sales to Muttville, decided to submit the elderly dog’s story to the Petco Love Stories campaign in 2021 after realizing the effect Stevie had on her followers.

Petco Love and Skechers donated money to the organizations the winners chose as part of the campaign, which sought moving animal adoption stories. One of the winners was Arden’s tale of Stevie, a baby she eventually adopted.

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue was awarded a $35,000 grant from Petco Love and Skechers as a result of Arden and Stevie’s efforts and yet another great tale from Mutville adopter Erick Smith.

Stevie’s story is just one example of how Skechers philanthropic efforts and the over $8 million it has donated to pets have changed the lives of shelter animals across North America.
