It’s usually difficult for the family when a loved one enlists in the military because they know that person will be away and in danger for several months at a time. However, it’s especially difficult on their pets, who have no idea what enlisting in the military entails and have no idea why their owner leaves for such an extended amount of time.
This soldier intended to surprise her three large, devoted German Shepherds when she returned home after a two-week injury break.
Mom pets had been without her for six months and had no idea when she would be back. But they continued to wait for her every day. Thus, picture their shock and delight when they unexpectedly discovered her on the couch, wanting to be hugged by them!
At the first glimpse of her, the three dogs leap, slobbering her with kisses and pushing one another aside. They eventually bury their mother under themselves because they are all bigger than her. But they’re also ravenous for love! What a scene! It almost seems like they are disputing with one other, shouting, “Back off, I got here first.”
And even though she will have to leave again soon, this mom is making sure she spends every minute she has showered her three lovebugs with all the love and attention she can.
