Her name is Karine Ribeiro. At a high school in Brazil, she teaches English.

However, she gave a surprise lesson on a completely another topic to her students earlier in the week.

They learned about kindness from Ribeiro.

Tuesday, as Ribeiro entered the classroom where her children were seated, she observed a separate dog there as well. She asked her students if the puppy belonged to any of them, assuming that the dog hadn’t come to class to learn a new language.

According to Ribeiro, The Dodo, “They responded, “No.” My inner dog-mom instinct took over when I noticed her acting lost.

Ribeiro chose not to expel the puppy that disrupted class.

She took the small dog into her arms and stroked her. She barely missed a beat as she then launched into the lesson for the day.

“What if this was one of my dogs? I wondered.

“I want to embrace her!” she exclaimed.

Ribeiro remarked. She appeared to be enjoying the scenario and was extremely calm.

These pictures of Ribeiro and her dog were taken by one of her students and were shared with her.

After class, Ribeiro was able to discover the answer to the dog’s origin story. She had actually gone to school that day with a classmate from another class but ended up in the wrong room. She was soon reunited with her proper owner.

While Ribeiro’s pupils will undoubtedly recall the day the puppy joined their class as a humorous experience from school, she hopes it will also be remembered for a more meaningful reason.
