The Obama family was the 44th presidential family of the United States, and they had two very special dogs who made history. Bo and Sunny, two Portuguese Water Dogs, joined the Obama family at the White House in April 2009 and August 2013 respectively.

Bo was a gift from Senator Ted Kennedy to the Obama family, while Sunny was a gift from the late Senator Kennedy’s wife Vicki. Both dogs were welcomed with open arms by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, as well as their daughters Malia and Sasha. Bo quickly became a beloved member of the White House family, joining President Obama on Air Force One for trips around the world and meeting many world leaders. He also had a job as a helper to Dale Haney, head groundskeeper of the White House.

Sunny was just as popular as her brother Bo. She loved to join Michelle Obama on her walks around Washington D.C., often accompanied by Bo or other members of their canine family at home. She also enjoyed playing with Malia and Sasha in their backyard garden at the White House.

Bo and Sunny were both very different dogs with distinct personalities that made them unique in their own ways. Bo was more outgoing than his sister Sunny; he was always up for an adventure or game of fetch with anyone willing to play! On the other hand, Sunny was more laid-back than her brother; she preferred cuddling up with her humans or taking leisurely strolls around town rather than playing fetch all day long.

Despite their differences, Bo and Sunny were always there for each other when needed most—especially during times of stress or difficulty at home or abroad during President Obama’s time in office. They provided comfort to those around them through simple acts like snuggles or wagging tails; even when things seemed bleakest, they could be counted on to bring smiles to everyone’s faces!

The Obamas’ Sunny and Bo will forever be remembered as two presidential pets who made history—not only for being part of such an iconic American family but also for bringing joy into so many lives along the way!
