With all the news about the Ukrainian-Russian War, it is simple to get lost in the emotions of fear, sorrow, and uncertainty. Millions of people’s lives will be affected by it, both in the combat zones and outside. It may seem unusual, but we cannot deny that kindness remains inside us, especially to our canine companions.

This article recounts the touching story of Rambo, the puppy who was saved from the cold by Ukrainian forces in the Donbas. 3.7 million people have watched the film, which we are now sharing with you!

In the Freedom News video, which The Independent has confirmed, a group of Ukrainian soldiers explains how they decided to take in a scared and trembling puppy. The video was posted on February 16th but gained popularity a few days after the war started.

The tiny black dog has a light-striped belly and legs and was seen running around the base, investigating every crack and corner. Humorously, one of the troops responds, “He is our protector. Right, Rambo? ”

And the little dog is reportedly handling the job quite well!

“He is our security. That is his job,” one of the soldiers tells the camera. The reporter can be heard chuckling in the background. “He can hear very well if there is a stranger nearby,” he continued. “Rambo is doing a good job! Best doggo,” said another soldier. Fear the mighty Rambo!

Rambo stomps and prances through the mud. Giving his new companions all the love and enthusiasm in the world instead of worrying about his surroundings. It is so amazing how such a tiny being can make everyone around him happy.

“He used to be so tiny he could fit in one hand” another troop recalled the beginning of their companionship and then proceeded to say that there are a couple more puppies who enjoy the kitchen area more.

Rambo was adopted together with his new elder siblings into the family, who played similar duties. Truly man’s best buddy, both in quiet times and in tough ones like the present, one soldier says, “They help us. Something that a human won’t hear, the dog will, they feel it.” As they calmly wait their turn to join the discourse, Muha (Fly), Babai, and Malisha (Baby) sit close to one another and their soldier.

The situation in Ukraine has undoubtedly affected us, but we must be strong, patient, and kind to everyone around us, the unit concludes. “Missing home, of course, been here for a little too long now.” These kinds of situations give us encouragement that we can discover kindness within, despite the challenges we experience.

We hope that soon Rambo, his new siblings, and the soldiers will be able to return home and that this war will be nothing more than a footnote in history. For the time being, we want to wish everyone safety and hope for a better future.
