Vinny was a shepherd mix rescued in 2013 from a high kill shelter in Los Angeles. He had been picked up by animal control after being found chained to the fence of an abandoned house with no food or water. Despite his tough start, Vinny’s story would soon take a major turn for the better.

Vinny’s rescuers noticed something special about him and decided to give him another chance at life. After taking him home, they noticed that he was incredibly smart and well behaved so they began training him as a therapy dog. During this time, Vinny earned several certifications including Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Therapy Dog International (TDI).

In 2017, Vinny made his debut as a therapy dog when he visited children in underserved areas of Los Angeles, bringing them comfort and joy through his visits. His visits were particularly appreciated by children who often felt alone or scared; Vinny provided them with much-needed attention and support during his visits.

One of the most remarkable stories involving Vinny is how he touched the heart of a young boy suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The boy had difficulty communicating verbally but nevertheless responded very positively to Vinny’s presence, showing that there are no words required for communication between humans & animals.

As if this wasn’t enough, Vinny also helped train other dogs for disability assistance & therapeutic purposes – truly demonstrating that dogs can be great teachers too! Through his extraordinary example, dozens of other rescue pups have been trained to provide companionship & aid to those in need; thanks to his selfless actions, many people have been able to live more independent & fulfilled lives!

This amazing pup passed away in the summer of 2020 after living an incredibly fulfilling life full of adventures! Although we miss him dearly still today, we are forever thankful for having shared incredible moments with an unforgettable companion such as our beloved friend Vinny who will forever remain in our hearts.
