Are you having a “Bones Day” or a “No Bones Day”?

If you have used social media lately, chances are good that you know exactly what we are talking about!

Millions of people all over the world receive guidance and inspiration from TikTok celebrity Noodle the Pug. Thanks to his owner Jonathan Graziano, the 13-year-old Pug has captured the attention of the internet. Noodle delivers motivational messages to get your day off to a good start and forecasts for the day’s events on a TikTok account with more than 4 million followers.
According to Noodle, each day is either a “Bones Day” or a “No Bones Day.”

What is a “Bones” or “No Bones” Day?

A “bones day” means it is going to be a productive day. When Graziano picks Noodle up from his extremely fluffy bed, Noodle signals that it is a “bones day” by putting his feet under him so he can stand. Noodle claims that a “bones day” is a fantastic opportunity to do tasks, particularly those you have been putting off or postponing. A “bones day” is an opportunity to concentrate, become motivated, and complete tasks.

Noodle is limp when plucked up off his fluffy bed until he back down, signifying a “no bones” day. A “no bones” day doesn’t necessarily portend a bad day. Instead, Noodle/Graziano says it is a chance to practice self-care, be nice and compassionate to yourself, and stop worrying about everything on your to-do list.

Noodle and Graziano have a wonderful and trustworthy friendship. Millions of dog lovers around the world have been enthralled and motivated to turn to this senior Pug to anticipate what type of day they will have because of that connection and that encouragement.

Why Do Dogs Get Floppy?

Not all dogs will flip over when lifted in the manner that Noodle occasionally does, but some dogs do it naturally. When pups are young, it is normal for them to become limp, floppy, or still. A mother dog intuitively learns to pick up her puppies by the loose skin at the scruff of their necks if she wants to move them.

When they feel their feet leaving the ground and being carried around by their mother, most pups become limp, if you have ever witnessed puppies being carried around by their mother.

Keep in mind that you should never carry your dog by the scruff of the neck because doing so can cause injuries and cause pain in mature dogs. Many dogs cease getting floppy when lifted once they reach puberty and adulthood. Other dogs will remain floppy when picked up as adults, depending on their personalities and comfort levels with handling.

Because they frequently get picked up in daily life, small breed dogs tend to be relaxed or floppy when being held. But certain dogs, no matter their size (like my Newfoundland, for instance), will also flop around like a “no bones” dog when they are gently raised.
Have a No Bones Day?

Do you ever wake up and constantly press the snooze button Our dogs can be the same way as we humans occasionally do not want to get out of bed. Some dogs may be reluctant to get out of bed if they are at ease, deep sleepers, elderly, or simply enjoying their naps. Even when picked up, these dogs may kindly be reluctant or refuse to get up.

This tendency is particularly typical of dogs who prefer to stay inside during cold or wet weather and then go outdoors for a stroll. It is not a problem if your dog wants to turn over and continue napping as long as they are physically able to get up when they want to.

Be Thoughtful About Lifting Your Dog

It is crucial to exercise caution whenever picking up your dog, especially if they are lying down. A dog-napping may experience extreme fear when handled or picked up and may become startled. A dog that has just been startled awake may snap or even bite.

Make sure your dog is awake before taking them up, even if they are routinely lifted or are accustomed to being handled. Lift carefully, being careful not to twist or adjust your dog’s neck or back while doing so. Do not drop your puppy when setting it down. Check to see if they are comfortably laying back or have their feet up. Keep in mind that being picked up by us can be unsettling, unpleasant, and frightening for our pets. If your dog dislikes handling, try not to pick them up unless it is an emergency and you have no other option.

Cause of Concern?

Noodle is obviously in good health and not in any pain. But it is crucial to take your dog to the vet if their behavior changes, if they start sleeping more, refuse to get up, or if their mobility changes. Similar to this, your dog needs to be assessed by a veterinarian right away if they are suddenly unable to stand on its own. A serious medical condition, disease, or orthopedic damage may manifest as a dramatic shift in energy levels or mobility.
