Beau the black Labrador Retriever gave her owners more than a fair share of puppies. The pregnant pooch, who hails from Britain, had an ultrasound performed at the veterinarian’s office. At that time, vets believed Beau would deliver five or six puppies at most. She not only exceeded that number but gave birth to a whopping 13 puppies total!

One by one, the tiny ones arrived, as dog-breeder, 32-year-old Leah Barrett helped deliver them with her sister, Alice.

Although it was estimated labor would take eight hours, a total of seven puppies entered the world after only 40 minutes. According to Leah, her father called his friends as the little ones arrived.

‘He told them, oh my god, there’s nine, now there’s ten,” Leah told Daily Mail UK.

One of the pups became stuck in the birth canal during labor for 40 minutes. She didn’t breathe or move for 15 minutes but they worked on her by removing fluid out of her lungs with suction equipment. That particular pooch was named Hope and is now one of the largest of the litter.

In the video below, the little ones are enjoying one of their five meals per day. The family named the boys Stormy, Ziggy, Ninja, Danny Dyer, Neon, Stevie, and Bear. The girls were named Hope, Violet, Penelope, Paloma Faith, Penelope, and Baby Pink.

The current record for biggest litter in Britain is held by a black Lab that birthed 15 pups back in 2014.

Since Beau only has 13 teats, Leah handfed three puppies or they may have perished. The new mom is taking a much-needed break as the babies have been weaned from her milk.

Congratulations Beau and great job!
