Two things made it seem like the two stray dogs bonded strongly when rescuer Suzette Hall first responded to a phone report about a pair of pups in need of assistance.

For instance, neighbors informed Hall that the dogs frequently remained together and in the same location as where they had reportedly been dumped two weeks earlier. And when they split apart, they cried out for one another.

“It was heartbreaking to hear one howl for the other,” according to Hall.

The two dogs were already anxious when they fled from Hall during the initial rescue in different directions.

“They would be looking, trying to find each other,” Hall said. “Then when they would see each other, they would go and run right back to each other.”

They would then hide together under a car, according to Hall.

After a few hours, Hall captured one of the dogs, but her joy quickly vanished when the second dog began to scream for her now-captured companion.

Hall has performed over a hundred rescues and has one rule she always follows: “I never leave someone behind.”

At three in the morning, Hall brought the first dog to her home and immediately returned to the dead-end street where the second dog was still waiting.

The second dog was now wary of Hall and her trap. “Some of them are so smart and just know that they’re going to be trapped,” Hall said. “But they don’t realize that they’re going to be saved.”

Hall successfully placed a slip-lead around the second dog’s neck after spending several hours trying to capture it with the assistance of neighbors. Hall claims that the neighbors joined her in celebrating the terrifying event.

“I was screaming, ‘We got her! We got her! ’ and the neighbors were all jumping up and down,” Hall recalled. “They were so excited.”

But the reunion of the two puppies following their rescue was the most exciting event.

“They’re totally bonded,” according to Hall. “They still need each other.”

Hall made sure that the two female dogs were placed in the same family as soon as they were approved for foster care because of their bond.

However, the family who decided to adopt the puppies soon after made them “foster fails.”

Hall also claims that the girls are doing well.

“They’re total whole-new dogs,” Hall said. “And they got the most amazing home ever.”
