Danielle Betterman has dedicated her life to saving unwanted animals, so when she received a call informing her that a pig needed a home, she was prepared to assist.

But the person on the phone said that this pig was unique.

A little Chihuahua and this pig were closest buddies.

The two, appropriately called Timon and Pumbaa, were found together in a vacant house. Pigs are natural prey animals, and dogs are natural predators, so the Arizona Humane Society was surprised to find them together.

But it was obvious that these two were in a committed relationship. Betterman, the owner of Better Piggies Rescue, was informed that she could either take the two piggies in if she was willing to do so, or that Timon may be taken to a shelter to be adopted.

Betterman realized she couldn’t keep them apart.

Betterman told The Dodo, “They’re polar opposites, but they love each other so much.” “We believe it’s because they relied on one another for friendship because they were left alone for such a long time. They have a really adorable little dynamic.

Timon is a boisterous puppy who is constantly jumping up and down, but Pumbaa is an old guy who enjoys nothing more than lounging around the yard all day. Pumbaa walks more slowly than Timon, but neither of them ever loses patience with the other.

Timon actually considers his perch atop Pumbaa’s back to being his favorite place in the entire world.

When Simon initially enters the outer world, Pumbaa is the first person he finds and hops onto, according to Betterman. “Whether Pumbaa is sitting or standing is irrelevant. They then simply hang out.

Timon and Pumbaa can interact with additional animals that are similar to them now that they are protected at the animal refuge. Timon and Pumbaa share a home with the other dogs and pigs in the yard.

Although they’ve used the chance to test out new friendships, they still put each other first in the end.

It has been amazing to watch them socialize with their particular kind of animal before returning to socializing with one another, according to Betterman.

Previously bound by necessity, Timon and Pumbaa can now spend the rest of their lives together in a setting where they can be fully carefree.

They have each other, which is what matters most. They also have love and support.
