The hilarious moment a dog yells after misunderstanding his owner’s brother-in-law who is in the house has been seen by millions of people.

At the time of writing, the well-liked video uploaded by @bayley.rose.smelly.toes has more than 925,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments.

On November 1, more than 5 million people viewed the CCTV video uploaded to TikTok. According to her owner, the dog, a Pitt-terrier mix, can be seen leaving the room and then crying when she comes back.

Many commenters on the internet have said they have never heard a dog make the high-pitched noise that the owner’s infant was awakened by. The video can be watched here.

This owner can rule out any medical concerns because it is clear that the dog yelled out of terror.

“Canine cognitive dysfunction, also known as dog dementia, is similar to Alzheimer’s disease in humans,” according to the dog resource website Oodle Life. “Just like the human condition, dog dementia can cause disorientation leading to increased confusion. This can lead to surges in anxiety and fear, especially if your pooch forgets where they are, which may manifest as screaming,” it says.

According to the website, “anxiety is a common cause of student screaming.” This unsettling feeling may happen when a dog’s habit or environment changes.

The shriek makes perfect sense because, according to Oodle Life, “your dog might suddenly scream when an unfamiliar animal or visitor is in their vicinity.”

However, if your dog suddenly starts howling for no apparent cause. As acute diseases like otitis media, ear infections, and chronic medical conditions like arthritis can also cause screaming, it is best to look for injuries and take your pet to the doctor.

On TikTok, the dog’s yelp has raised some questions. Some have questioned if it was the puppy or the infant.

70,000 people have liked a user’s comment that read, “I have never in my life seen a dog scream in terror.”

“DOGS CAN SCREAM LIKE THAT?” another person wrote.

Another user said, “She released that yell from her DIAPHRAGM!!!”

Another joked, “She was like “I’m not much for fighting but take this! AYEHHHHHHHHH”

“I feel so sorry for the dog, but the scream made me laugh,” the commenter as she trying to hold back her laughter.
