The moment a golden retriever intervenes to assist another dog in feeding her 12 puppies has been witnessed by thousands of people.
According to the popular TikTok video posted by @scoutslegacygoldens, her Pyrenean mastiff dog Nova had more puppies than she could care for.
The video of Nova getting assistance from Brookyln, the retriever, who is seen nursing her puppies since she has recently “weaned her brood,” attracted more than 194,000 viewers.
Their owner, Amanda Jean Pratt, acknowledges that she initially doubted the success of the concept. Since then, more than 32,000 people have liked it. The video is accessible here:

Before Brooklyn assisted in producing colostrum, which is “the first production of the mammary glands that plays a critical function for puppies and kittens,” Pratt noted that Nova spent “one-on-one time” with her offspring.
The sweet video has received hundreds of comments on TikTok, with one user writing: “She looks so delighted to help and mama is like thank you so much.”
As a labrador breeder, I can definitely vouch to this. My lab, who had just finished weaning her puppies, nursed 17 kittens, yes, I said 17 kittens, contentedly. One user isn’t startled by the video because she has a similar but very different experience.
