Not all dogs are built to protect–that’s just a fact! Just take Teddy the Golden Retriever for example. He’s never had to protect his home before, but his dad is putting him to the test.
In the clever and hilarious video from @aguyandagolden, Teddy’s dad creates the perfect scenario to test his pup. As great as the setup is, though, the pup’s reaction is even better!

LMAO! Teddy might not be a guard dog, but we love him just the same. It’s just like @kiib13 said– “Teddy’s a lover, not a fighter.” Exactly as it should be!
“Sweet boy doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body,” @bobodarotty agreed. What gave it away? Was it Teddy’s shocked reaction or the way he tried to avoid his scary intruder? Either way–it’s too funny! Let’s just hope he’s not home alone during any burglaries, though. Just like @purposely_prettyk wrote, “I think you might need a backup dog just in case stuff gets real LOL.” That’s precisely what we’re saying!
Teddy’s “double take on the first glance” made so many viewers like @3miraclesmom smile from ear to ear. This Golden’s shock is undeniable! We’d probably have a similar reaction if we were surprised with a growling stranger in the house, but that doesn’t make the pup’s reaction any less funny. Sorry, Teddy!
We love what @riverwalk1212 pointed out–how, at first, the dog “immediately said ‘nope, get someone else to do it.'” But by the end of the clip, he was giving it a sniff like the brave boy he is!
