A trash collector is more than just a helpful community member or a nice wrestling gimmick. They can occasionally be guardian angels. That was the case for three kittens in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, who had been abandoned before being saved by their helpful local trash collector.

Terrance Taylor, a sanitation worker in Lebanon, paused his collecting day while emptying a trash can along his route in a TikTok video that he uploaded to his turboterry77 account on Wednesday.

In a subsequent video, Taylor states, “I hear this—it’s kind of hard to describe—a high-pitched, muffled noise.”

He compared the noise to an underwater smoke detector and was going to disregard it when he noticed a bag moving.

He continues, “As soon as I have seen that, obviously I lift the bag up, and boom, there’s the orange kitten number one.”

After seeing the first kitten, Taylor starts shooting a TikTok with his phone’s camera.

@turboterry77 Things you find in garbage! That you shouldn’t find in garbage!!Found a total of 3! 😡#catrescue #savethekitten #kittensaved #rescued #rescueanimals #rescuekitten #rescuecat ♬ original sound – TURBOTERRY77

Taylor begins the video by saying, “Here we go with the chronicles of a trash man,” as he makes his way to the back of his truck. We can hear a kitten caught in the trash making a loud meow as he turns the corner to the back. Taylor reaches into the truck’s back and removes a damp, filthy cat from the chaos by pushing a few bags aside.

The kitten is hunched over but has eyes open, and a set of lungs writhes a little as Taylor pulls him close. Taylor then places the kitten on his passenger seat and returns to the truck’s back.

He delves through the recently dumped trash and pulls out another kitty that is as filthy and damp but still alive and well.

After being carried to the truck’s passenger door, kitten No. 2 resides on the passenger seat next to her brother.

Although it cannot be seen in the original video, Taylor also discovered a third kitty in the trash, as stated in the video’s caption.

In the next video, he states, “I put my phone down and I went into high gear. Emptying out all the trash that’s in the back of the truck.”

@turboterry77 part 2!! There was l a total of three kittens. They are all doing well! I would like to thank everybody for the love and support you have shown. Gives me hope that there is still humanity out there with all your support!! Much Love to you all!#rescuecat #rescuekitten #rescueanimals #rescued #kittensaved #savethekitten #catrescue ♬ Paradise – Ikson

Taylor published a follow-up video on Thursday responding to multiple comments requesting an update. It showed all three kittens—two orange and one orange and white—lying on blankets and being held by a young girl.

The caption of the video informs everyone that “They are all safe and doing great!” Ginger, Cinnamon, and Clover are their names.

Finally, Taylor claims that he took the kittens to the neighborhood humane organization and had them examined after his third film. They were all healthy and only a few weeks old by the staff. Taylor says the kittens were all placed in a foster home with a mother cat who had a litter of her own about the same age as Taylor’s foundlings. The mama has accepted Ginger, Cinnamon, and Clover as her own.

Taylor remarks on the original video, which has received 9.7 million views, saying, “I really didn’t realize this video would blow up the way it did. I shouldn’t get attention like this because it never should have happened.”
