Canine officers are just as hardworking as the humans they serve alongside, so it’s always special to see the ways they unwind between shifts. Whether it’s through playtime or snacktime–taking a break is always important!
The Real Officer Oreo and his handler are normalizing play in their recent TikTok video, and viewers can’t get enough. This Springer Spaniel/Labrador mix looks like the happiest boy! As the two partners demonstrate their favorite way to play, we just can’t help but smile at the bond they clearly share.
OMG, this pup looks like he’s flying! It’s so cute how so many people stop to watch the officer and his dog playing together–especially since we’d be doing the very same thing!

Springer Spaniels are known for their excellent sense of smell, though, so it makes sense that they’d be successful police dogs. Especially with Oreo’s Labrador genetics, he makes the friendliest community service officer, too.
“Officer Oreo being a good boy and very adorable” melted @jessicadv08’s heart, and it certainly touched ours too. This dog enjoys his job. Just as Officer Oreo’s handler said in a reply, “he loves hugs and finding drugs.” LOL! Now that belongs on a T-shirt.
This pup and his handler actually faced online backlash for playing, but as @cosandk explains, “this type of play was likely just a reward for the dog doing what they’re supposed to do. That’s how K9s work. It didn’t last long which signifies a reward.” Oreo’s handler confirmed–that’s completely correct. These two were demonstrating the pup’s favorite reward, and they did a fantastic job.
