Jolene the Pit Bull didn’t have an easy start to her rescued life. She was found abandoned and left to die in a crate, before being nursed back to health by the pros at @kcpetproject. To say that she’s come a long way since then is an understatement!

Now that the four-legged superstar is well on her way to recovery, the shelter that helped connect her with foster parents has posted the most heartwarming update. Jolene’s life of love and adventure is just beginning!

Doesn’t she look so happy now? She really has come so far since her first day in the shelter–both physically and mentally! Not only does she seem to be in much better health, but she seems way more comfortable around people, too. Her foster dad–the very officer who took her case–must be making a world of difference in her life.

“Foster fail maybe?” asked viewer @karencurtis. “If not hoping she is spoiled for the rest of her life…I definitely know when I retire I want to volunteer with dogs in some way.” That’s such a beautiful goal to have! It only goes to show that a little love can go a long way for an impressionable pup.

@Katherinebowen26 said that she’s “crying happy tears! I’m so glad she’s okay and she’s safe with her foster!” Relief doesn’t even begin to describe it, does it? After experiencing so much fear and pain early in her life, this pup deserves nothing more than to relax and play with a loving family. And that’s exactly what she’s going to get!
