There are probably not many more creative ways for you parents and other caretakers to set up your “Elf on the Shelf.” perhaps you’ve had enough of thinking up inventive methods to stage the elf. The elf makes me anxious! Ask any parent who, during the holidays, wakes up at 3 in the morning in a panic because they forgot to move him, surround him with gumdrops, or build a 10 foot gingerbread North Pole for him to dwell in to thrill the children in your home.

Welp, watch the video below to see what happened when the dog owned by TikTok user @Jessikasee took the elf into his own, eh, paws.

First of all, we need to say we feel so bad for the beautiful little girl in this video! We HATE seeing kids cry and it’s just heartbreaking. Poor thing. She is too sweet. And her brother, awwwww. We are positive Mom made it up to them! On the other hand, you gotta admit, the ‘dog’ doing this is pretty funny. @Lisatuckwood says, “That’s clever blaming the dog so you could secretly throw the damn thing away.” LOL! @Jana adds, “Sorry, but the whole Elf on the Shelf thing is a MISERABLE idea. Worst part about Christmas until my daughter was old enough to know.” @JerrdyDOhrn says, “All these people miss the point. Genius way to never have to move the damn thing at 3am when you wake up and realize you forgot….”
