A small dog named Robbie waited outside the door of a busy Dollar General in Houston, Texas, for three weeks. The little brown dog hid away under a plastic chair all by himself, hoping someone would see him as they came and went.

Fortunately, Kristin Erwin knew she had to assist Robbie as soon as she saw him.

Erwin told The Dodo, “I thought he was the loveliest thing, with chubby little legs. When I learned that he had already been present for three weeks, it crushed my heart.

Robbie was seen running around a local parking lot by Erwin, who frequently helps with dog rescues.

Erwin went inside the Dollar General and asked the clerk if she knew anything about Robbie’s tale because he was curious as to why the cute puppy was by himself. Erwin was skeptical despite the cashier’s assurances that Robbie would be picked up later. Erwin gave the cashier her phone information and requested to be informed if Robbie’s caregiver failed to arrive. Soon after, Erwin received a text stating exactly what she had suspected: they had not arrived and Robbie needed assistance.

Even though it was now becoming dark, Erwin hurried over to the Dollar General.

Robbie was eventually coaxed into Erwin’s car by the friendly clerk and Erwin used rewards, and he was soon warm and secure in her house.

Robbie had time and space to adjust to his new surroundings thanks to Erwin. Erwin initially felt Robbie was afraid because of his lack of activity. Erwin, however, came to see that Robbie was just a laid-back guy as she got to know him better.

Erwin said that “he was totally at ease, eating and sleeping.” Robbie has since been relocated to a loving foster home with assistance from Lola’s Lucky Day, where he will remain until he is ready to find his forever family.

Robbie, who was initially unclear of how his narrative would turn out, can now relax in the knowledge that he will soon have a long-term, devoted home of his own.
