Bluu was on a lonely Kentucky road praying for a miracle when a kind stranger saw her. The blue nose pit bull was left behind with a bag of food and waited patiently for her family to come home. However, she was in for a surprise.

They realized they couldn’t keep Bluu waiting much longer as soon as the Good Samaritan saw her. They approached the adorable pup with caution, gave her a tender head rub, and then made a call to the nearest animal shelter for assistance.

As soon as possible, the neighborhood shelter intervened and successfully saved Bluu from the side of the road. When she was prepared to enter foster care, they contacted their shelter partner in New York City and had her receive the necessary medical attention.

Bluu was gratefully accepted into Muddy Paws Rescue NYC’s care, and the organization started seeking the ideal foster home for the dog right away.

“Once she arrived in NY, Bluu was paired with a first-time foster, David, who was smitten with her and her gentle soul instantly,” Muddy Paws Rescue wrote in a blog post.

@muddypawsrescuenyc It’s hard to believe Bluu was found abandoned on the side of the road just a few weeks ago. This 6-month old girl has been nothing but trusting, playful, and sweet in foster care, & now it’s time to close out this hard chapter in her life and find her forever home! Bluu quickly adapted to her new surroundings, learning how to use the stairs and taking wonderful afternoon naps. The more time passed, the more Bluu’s personality developed, and everyone who met her fell in love with her.

Everyone could see that Bluu was unique, according to Muddy Paws.

The tenacious dog was at last secure and content, but her foster home was merely a stopgap; she was still looking for a permanent family.

After previously adopting a dog from the NYC-based shelter, a woman one day decided that her dog, Oreo, needed a brother. When she returned to Muddy Paws’ website to view the adoptable animals, she was unable to scroll past Bluu.

“Nafitha saw Bluu on our Muddy Paws site and knew she’d be a great fit,” Muddy Paws wrote. “She came to our adoption event in Central Park, and the rest is history.”

Bluu has grown even more in love with her mom, her human and canine brothers, and her new life since being adopted by Nafitha.

“Nafitha says, ‘Bluu is a silly girl, but super sweet and protective. My son and she are practically attached at the hip,’” Muddy Paws wrote.

Bluu experienced some extremely difficult challenges in her little life, but judging from her playful nature, you would never know it. Despite her difficult past, the resilient dog isn’t depressed; instead, she is ecstatic about her new life.

“We don’t know what circumstances led to Bluu ending up there, but we’re so happy that she forgot all about her past when she made it to us,” Muddy Paws wrote.

Bluu is now enjoying the life she deserves with a loving family, just as her rescuers had hoped. The puppy’s days of living on a Kentucky highway are long gone, but her family will never forget the Good Samaritan who extended a helping hand and completely transformed her life.
