Dogs that are deemed to be “scary” or aggressive are occasionally given up to shelters or rescue organizations. Because they are aware that sometimes even the “scariest” dogs only require love, patience, and understanding to relearn how to trust people, many individuals choose to adopt one of these dogs and give them a loving home and a second chance at life.

This is the case with the TikTok user @Weishaarfam, who released a lovely clip on what it was like to live with one of these “scary” rescue dogs. Watch the video below to fall in love with the life of this adorable dog who only required unrestricted affection.

This is such a heartwarming reminder to cherish each and every second we spend with our furry friends. As @K.eporter writes, “Omg I am BAWLING. I have a sweet pit bull boy too and I can’t even think about him being gone.” @Mommyery adds, “I truly feel a lot of dogs in shelters are kennel aggressive…not overall aggressive!” And @AbbyBaldridge responds, “And to think..he could have passed on alone in the shelter but instead he passed on happy and loved.” So true.

Adopting a dog is a major commitment that needs careful thought. A dog may be deemed “scary” by a shelter, but it is reasonable to assume that much of this fear stems from the dog being in a strange facility. If you are prepared for the problems that may arise and make the necessary preparations to give your new child a secure and happy environment, you will probably be rewarded with a lifetime of unwavering love and companionship.
