It has been one year since Russia invaded Ukraine and since then, millions of animals have been displaced with nowhere to turn. They’re hungry, scared and injured. Oftentimes, cats and dogs are a second thought when in a time of war. But the creation of Project Lapky is meant to fix that.

Known on TikTok as @projectlapky, this organization was formed by a group of friends all with the same goal – to help the innocent animals caught in the crossfire of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The organization’s recent video is a cry for help. Donations and spreading the word of Project Lapky will truly go a long way in helping millions of animals.

@projectlapky Since Russia invaded Ukraine 1 year ago today over 1.2 million dogs and countless cats have been left to fend for themselves. They are hungry and scared. And many have been injured and need urgent medical attention. We founded Project Lapky to help them. If you’re able to, please donate today at www.projectlapky.com. And you can help us further by spreading the word! Thank you for helping us, help them. #ProjectLapky #NovaUkraine #Ukraine #AnimalRescue #UkraineAnimals #StandWithUkraine #AnimalWelfare #HelpingAnimalsInNeed ♬ dream river. – Woodsman

Our hearts have completely shattered. 1.2 million dogs and countless cats? Ugh, we can’t handle that. We feel so bad for all these animals. They had nothing to do with the war and shouldn’t have to deal with the consequences. Thankfully, there are organizations like Project Lapky that are there to help.

“It’s so sad to see these poor babies suffering,” said @unicorncloud. Tears are rolling down our faces after watching this video. @laurabryant636 added, “How heartbroken those who once loved these babies must be – such a terrible situation. Thank you for helping these babies.” Thank you times a million. Thank you for all the time and work. It definitely doesn’t go unnoticed!

If you’re interested in donating, please visit the Project Lapky website for more information. Let’s get these animals the love and support they need! Also, a little tidbit of information for you all. Lapky means paws or animal feet in Ukrainian. Aww, we love that they included that in this organization’s name!
