How many dog owners can totally relate to the T-shirts and coffee cups that say, “I’m not going if I can’t bring my dog”? You can certainly hire a dog sitter or board your dog, but sometimes you just want to bring your furry child along. Since dogs are members of the family, traveling with them only enhances the experience. But what if you don’t feel like taking your dog along on a flight?

This video, posted by @Jaclynspringer, demonstrates the realities of traveling with pets. Any dog owner who has experienced this can completely relate to it!

There’s some serious pet love there! Instead of taking an hour and a half flight, you drive for 7 hours so your dog can travel with you. With the cost of flying a dog ranging from $50 to $500, sometimes it just makes more sense to load them into their car and travel the open road. You do what you gotta do, and many pet owners don’t feel comfortable having their baby ride in the luggage compartment.

According to the comments, many owners share this sentiment. A TikTok user named @saltlifegirl76 said, “Just did this yesterday! 12-hour travel- all for the puppy.” Another user named @kellyvolden commented, “Did a 17-hour drive to take the dog at Thanksgiving.”

Check out these safety trips for traveling with your dogs because many pets will be traveling home for the holidays to spend time with family.
